Client Rights
Within the context of Flowercart services, clients have the right:
- To be informed of their rights.
- To provide input, raise concerns or recommend change in the policies and services of Flowercart.
- To make choices in matters that directly affect his or her work life e.g. employment and education options. Choices are made in keeping with the safety and rights of others.
- To be provided with information regarding services and resources available within their community.
- To access community resources e.g. independent advocates, People First.
- To grieve decisions made by the personnel of Flowercart.
- To develop friendships.
- To take part in meaningful day activities.
- To work in a clean, safe and least restrictive environment.
- To be treated with respect and dignity.
- To be free of mental or physical abuse and sexual harassment.
- To have confidentiality maintained with respect to all aspects of the support Flowercart provides.
- To regular evaluations and ongoing planning which assists him/her in moving towards meeting goals as identified at yearly Individual Planning Meetings.
- To have input into the establishment of personal goals.
- To self expression; inclusive of expressing thoughts, feelings, ideas and sexuality. Sexuality is defined as integration of the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social aspects of an individual's personality which expresses maleness or femaleness
